About Me Mariella is a professional astrologer and is also trained in counselling within astrology. She sees clients at home in Beckenham, Kent and also gives telephone consultations to clients worldwide. She combines her knowledge in western and vedic astrology in her consultations.
She began her training as an astrologer in 1986 with the Company of Astrologers which gave her a solid foundation in traditional astrology. She joined the Faculty of Astrological Studies to learn the modern psychological approach to astrology and obtained both the Certificate and the Faculty Diploma. Subsquently, she undertook a post-graduate 2 year course of studies with the Faculty to train as a counselling astrologer. In 1996, she began her studies in Vedic Astrology and in the past 10 years has studied with world famous astrologers in this field, visiting India on an annual basis. She combines both systems of astrology in her consultations.

What is Astrology
Astrology is the study of the movement of the Sun, Moon and Planets against the backdrop of the Fixed Stars which we call the Zodiac, and the correspondence between this movement and events taking place on earth.As above so below. This ancient hermetic principle is the rationale for astrology which has been a sacred science for thousands of years. It relies on the observation of the way planetary cycles affect human behaviour based on the law of cause and effect and is therefore, scientific and empirical. However, as astrological interpretation depends on the astrologer's higher faculty of intuition, it is also an art. A chart called a Horoscope is drawn giving the longitude position of the Sun, Moon and Planets in relation to the signs of the zodiac at the exact moment of a person's birth and their spatial position in a 12 house division of the horoscope according to the place of birth.
